There's plenty of spirit and passion to go around at WBFH. When we work hard, we work hard; when we play, we play. Not only do we get involved in community service, but we also seek new ways to grow as members of the community.

There's more to just being on staff. It's like an extended family. And like a family, we're always interested in having fun.

We've included some of our favorite photos of our milestones along the way.

Down the Alley

Pete Bowers shows his championship style while bowling with some of the staff at Troy's Thunderbird Lanes in April of 2002.

Curling? Yes, curling!

Curling has become the talk of WBFH since Jeff Lutz made staff. Here (left to right) Jeff Lutz, Melissa Talon and General Manager Pete Bowers pose for the camera with a couple of stones for good measure.

The competition? Why, that would be (left to right) Scott Alexander, Kevin Rich and Matt Kachel.

Sports Play-by-Play

Jeff Lutz (left) and Scott Alexander (right) enjoy a great view of the Andover/Clawson hockey game at the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Township.

Scott and Jeff calling the game with Randy Carr (in background) serving as engineer.

How exactly does one broadcast a cheerleading competition? Just ask Ron Wittebols (left) and Matt Kachel. They're just finishing up a marathon 3-hour broadcast in the Lahser gym. Several cheerleading squads from the area participated. It was quite an event.

MAB 2002 Winners!

Congratulations to Jeff Lutz (left) and Dave Feldman (right) who both won second place awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters. Jeff was second in Promotional Announcement and Dave won his award in the Newscast category. Here, they are flanked by Randy Carr, Assistant Station Manager (left) and Pete Bowers, Station Manager (right).

Jeff Lutz and his very proud mother, Jill, attended the MAB Awards Luncheon.

Unbelievable!

Andrew Sokoly sums up the feeling of the entire staff after learning that WBFH was voted M.A.E.B. "Station of the Year" at the M.A.E.B. Honors Ceremony held at Andover's theater. The date is April 17, 2002.

Earlier in the evening, Pete Bowers serves as Master of Ceremonies, welcoming area stations WOVI, WSDP, WSHJ and WPHS to Andover High School. Alan Almond of WNIC/Detroit was special guest speaker.

Before the event, Matt Kachel (left) and a staffer (right) offer cakes and cookies to guests as they enter the Andover theater.

It's an emotional moment as Pete Bowers accepts "Station of the Year" on behalf of his staff. Bowers goes on to thank his family, Assistant Station Manager Randy Carr and Remote Supervisor Ron Wittebols for years of support.

More celebrating afterwards as Nate Bender, Kevin Rich, Kevin Baird, Robin Carter and a staffer pose for the camera.

Nate Bender is all smiles after having won a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal. Nate is inspired to continue with broadcasting long after he gratuates high school.
